Tool #11 Answering Questions

Making a photostory or a movie is my favorite tool. As I described earlier here are the ways I would use it:
1. A photostory can be used in many teaching ways starting with lecture, giving examples, creating a project or assessment and finishing with comparasion and discussion of one theme based photostories products created by different students (groups)and combined as one as a conclusion made of the best pieces.
I would personally have my students to create a photostory project given a particular physics assignment. Let's say solving one complicated multiple-steps physics problem by diffenet ways, presenting the ways by the groups ,discussing them and picking out the best one.
2.Given technology and mastering the tools would make a total difference in my classroom which would make learning environment more fun and give the chance to my students to explore the topic from different resourses, makng it more understandable and more sense!
3. I am not sure if I understand of what is being asked. The program took me MUCH MORE time than I expected probably because all these tools were new for me.

Tool #11 Digital Citizenship

Teaching Digital Citizenship to my students would be no different than teaching to be just a good citizen. The moral accepable in the society ,actions, behavior ,attitude, treating others the way you want to be treated, to be polite and respectful and think before you say (or write under in the "digital" environment circumstences)are all the things applicable to become a good digital ciritizen.

Tool # 10 Exploring Apps

All these apps are about tons of things you are able to use for students' own learning. Teacher is really becoming a facilitator of students' independent ( or group/partner) learning when the students have all those apps avalable to them. Some of iPad apps I looked at were "convert" which we in physics need and use so often. While it is good to teach the students how to convert units of measuements manually at the beginning of the course, in a higher level of physics assignments your goal is to reach the result and that is when you need your "converter" to operate your data fast and get the desiresd outcome to be discussed in the conclusion.
The other was a "lab timer" whis is also a handy tool in labs experiments. It is so convenient when you have different tools(equipment) avalable to you in one piece instead of many while conducting the labs.

Tool # 9 Screencast

One can use the program the same way you would use videos and animations as introduction, review, reinforcemnet etc. The feature though can help you stress on particular details you want to get students' attention to by highliting, using pointer or typing some caption.

Tool # 8 Video Resources

The first video "Quantum Physics double slit experiment" could serve as a reinforcment of one of the sections of "Quantum Physics" unit. The second one "Basic Trigonometry" as a review of some trigonometry skills as well as introduction to it dependin on what students I have at the bedinning of Physics course.

Tool # 7 Photostory

A photostory can be used in many teaching ways starting with lecture, giving examples, creating a project or assessment and finishing with comparasion and discussion of one theme based photostories products created by different students (groups)and combined as one as a conclusion made of the best pieces.
So far I am unable to publish my phostory for unidentifying problems. I talked through the whole prosess with Vauhgn to make sure I did everything right, which happened that I did and still have no luck uploading. Karen Justle said she had the same problem which was caused by the music she added. I wonder if I should remove mine...
Ok, I removed the music, tried to upload my story again and ...no luck.

Tool # 6 Wikis

Definetely, the examples viewed already gave me some ideas of how to use wiki. I am sure with my physics course progressing through the school year I will have more. Science lab always requires conclusion for a example and is peformed in groups. Wiki would be the tool to discuss outcomes and post ideas for the analysis and synthesis of the experiment performed in class (or even virtually). Projects are the next assignment you may give to a group and have it done by sharing responsibilities among the group members.

Tool # 5 Bookmarks and Tags

These are the sites I discovered and found helpful both for my Physics students and I. My tags were "sience", "physics" , "labs", "virtual"
Physics Simulations
Physics Tutorials
Useful for storing info and get back to highlited points quick.

Tool # 4 Google Docs and Reader

Good to know that teachers you collaborate with can read and comment on what you feel is a good source of information on particular unit as well as use your docs in her classroom which you think would be a great learning material . When people can see it so easily they always can give you a feedback fast which we all need and be able to change something quick in our lesson to make it better! In the clasroom any of the tools can be used for research, projects, labs, quizes- practicing, etc.

Tool # 3 Images and Mashups

Using/creating images is a useful tool to make an idea, topic or concpt alive. I used "imagechef.com" where I had a chance to customize my picture. Instead of "School Bus" on the image of school bus I put down "Knowledge is Power" that specifically could be used as a warm up or inroduction to "work, energy and power" unit, encouraging discusion and everyday life examples.

Tool # 2 PLN

1. Building online education community does make sense. As any other community built online PLN will persue its own goals, communicate our professional ideas, thoughts etc.; valuable for educational professionals first of all.Getting a piece of advice from the teacher next door is great (especially if you have a next-door teacher), but getting the advice globally would bring a feeling of being united with the whole world of the same folks as you are.
2. Be humble – I find that readers respond very well to posts that show your own weaknesses, failings and the gaps in your own knowledge rather than those posts where you come across as knowing everything there is to know on a topic. People are attracted to humility and are more likely to respond to it than a post written in a tone of someone who might harshly respond to their comments.- I like this advice the most.
3. I commented on the folloing bloggers: Houser, Amy Amy's House
Joyce, Patty Being Patty Joyce
Staples, Darla dj'sjots
Wegscheid, Cheryl Wegs Online
, Joanne Lee, Ms.Lee's Thoughts

Tool #1 Setting Up

Setting up was totally new experience for me. It took me quite a bit of time but I am there.
Answering my students' questions and posting some valuable info on topics studied in my classroom would be an addition to teach/learn process. You can use variety of things to help students learn from posting useful websites ,virtual labs to examples of solving probelms and discussing everyday life science examples.
